Doug Gottlieb: "I actually believe that Aaron Rodgers didn't say 'fire that dude.' But even if that is true, Aaron Rodgers absolutely, positively has the power to say 'Woody, what are we doing? Robert Saleh is not the problem. We have other issues.' But that's not what happened, and that's why so many people call BS. The timeline of events is a little curious. You talked to Woody Johnson before he talked to Saleh, he fired Saleh, and it never came up? Ever? You're a Hall of Fame QB, the owner of the team made a change at the head coach position, and it never came up? If you believe this tale, that's fine. If you believe it, Aaron Rodgers at minimum should have said 'I wish he would have asked me. I would have said don't fire Robert.' And the reality is there is .0001% chance that the owner of the team talks to the Hall of Fame quarterback of the team and doesn't tell him about firing the head coach of the team, especially when the quarterback of the team had a major issue with his previous franchise over being integrated into the decision making."
Doug Gottlieb reacts to Aaron Rodgers publicly addressing Robert Saleh's firing for the first time. Doug details Rodgers' lengthy track record of half-truths and his insistence to meddle with roster construction to demonstrate why you cannot believe Rodgers when he claims he had no idea Jets Owner Woody Johnson was about to make the change at head coach.
