Non-Pittsburgh Sports Moment of the Day - April, 7th

Everyday during this time of social distancing, we've been bringing you a Pittsburgh Sports Moment of the Day to help combat the sadness that comes with no sports. I've also been posting a non-Pittsburgh Sports Moment of the Day as well, something memorable that is not directly related to Pittsburgh sports.

This one is personal for me as a diehard supporter of Manchester United. Two years ago today United and Manchester City met in the Manchester Derby at City's home grounds, the Etihad Stadium. A win for City against their cross-town rivals would have officially won them the English Premier League.

City jumped out to a commanding 2-nil lead in the first half, and appeared to be on cruise control towards a decisive victory and its first Premier League title under Pep Guardiola.

But the script flipped in the second half, as Paul Pogba scored twice in just 97 seconds to bring United level. Then the Red Devils officially spoiled City's title party when Chris Smalling volleyed home a free-kick in the 69th minute (nice) to give Manchester United three unanswered goals and a dramatic comeback in front of 55,000 stunned noisy neighbors.

Manchester is Red. Always and forever.
