Pete Rose found his way into the headlines this past week after sending a petition to Rob Manfred that states he should be reinstated by Major League Baseball. Rose feels that since the Astros players caught up in the sign stealing scandal have not faced punishment, why should he continue to be punished for gambling? I really could not care less about Pete Rose or his on going campaign of reinstatement. As far as I'm concerned any athlete's accomplishments that occurred before I graced this Earth with my presence are null and void. What I do care about is the fact that Pete Rose, MLB's all time leader in hits, once gave a shower to Joe Dimaggio, owner of the longest hitting streak in MLB history with 56 straight games recording a hit. The hit king told his legendary story to the sports pope Mike Francesa on his show just last summer.
Well there you have it. Joe Dimaggio has an absolute HOG. Can't say I'm too surprised, it takes a lot of confidence to reach 56 games straight with a hit. Rumor has it that during game number 43 of the streak, Dimaggio broke his only bat and was forced to record a hit with his penis. What a legend. Also I've never been more jealous of a human being then I am of Pete Rose giving Joltin' Joe a shower.
