I owe James Washington an apology

This summer, I told you that Diontae Johnson would lead the Steelers wide receivers in catches.

All offseason we discussed whether or not JuJu Smith-Schuster could be a #1 NFL wide receiver.

The Steelers offense added Eric Ebron and Chase Claypool as red zone and big play targets.

All of these storylines dominated our lead up to the 2020 NFL season.

The forgotten man, James Washington, made the play of the night yesterday for Pittsburgh. With seven seconds left in the first half, Washington caught a pass over the middle and dragged two Giants' defenders with him into the end zone. It capped off a 78-yard scoring drive, and just like that Ben Roethlisberger was back.

That was MAN strength from Washington.

I'd like to apologize to the young man. I didn't talk about him enough during the run up to the season. He, after all, led the Steelers in receiving yards last year!

He had another catch in the game that went for 13 yards and a first down. Two catches, two first downs, and one touchdown. Pretty efficient night at the office for James Washington.

We should probably expect a few more. It wouldn't be fair to overlook him again.
