The NHL is...nailing this?

The Miami Marlins have 11 players and two coaches who have tested positive for Covid-19. The Marlin's home opener in Miami has been postponed, and the league is waiting with bated breath to see where to go from here.

Meanwhile in the NHL...

What we know is that every team managed to make it to the hub cities of Edmonton and Toronto without bringing the virus.

That's huge for a couple of reasons.

1.) Canada has been more successful at dealing with Covid-19 than the United States.

2.) Hub cities, or "bubbles" are working thus far.

Early in the pandemic process, MLB floated the idea of having teams use their spring training ball parks in a quarantine bubble. Many on social media laughed at the idea. I think MLB was the first league to suggest such a plan.

No dice. No bubble. No chance. Major League baseball is on the brink of collapse.

The NHL, on the other hand, accepted that in order to keep players and team staff as safe as possible, they needed to create "bubbles."

The NHL and NHLPA were able to agree to a new CBA agreement that will lead to years of labor peace.

Major League Baseball? The PA and the owners got into a long, drawn-out fight that lasted months and greatly aggravated baseball's fan base.

The NHL announced its playoff format early in the process.

MLB decided its playoff format the day of the first game.

Gary Bettman has done a wonderful job. In fact, this is a legacy moment for the league's commissioner.

Rob Manfred? He has egg on his face.
