In regular times, I do weird radio show. During a pandemic? It's off the wall.
Yesterday, in addition to current sports topics, we talked about murder hornets, moneys on motorcycles, the 1990's Chicago Bulls, and the immaculate reception.
In a world without sports, sports talkers are navigating their way through unprecedented times. I've got a lot of respect for everyone in the industry right now. Content needs to be created! Shake the tree and see what falls to the ground. I get it.
But I personally am done talking about one topic in particular: The Steelers backup QB situation.
Joy Taylor of "The Herd" said yesterday that Cam Newton to the Steelers makes some sense.
ESPN's Mel Kiper mocked Jalen Hurts to the Steelers about a week before the NFL draft.
Andrew Fillipponi from the station across the street was admirably banging the table to try to get Jameis Winston to back up Ben Roethlisberger.
Our buddy Mark Madden from 105.9 the X even thinks the Steelers should kick the tires on Mitch Trubisky for NEXT year.
Yo, enough already.
The Steelers are moving forward with Ben Roethlisberger, Mason Rudolph, and some combination of Paxton Lynch and Devlin Hodges in 2020.
Is that the right call? Reasonable people can disagree on that. Truthfully.
But that doesn't change the fact that the Steelers aren't interested in doing anything different with their QB room for next year. What needs to happen for people both locally and nationally to get that?
Does Art Rooney II need to walk down the Boulevard of the Allies wearing a thong that reads "Mason is our backup," in order for folks to understand that's not going to change?
Ahh, screw it. There's nothing else going on. SO WHAT ABOUT DESHONE KIZER?!
