AB wouldn't work in Baltimore - so here's hoping the Ravens sign him!

On his snapchat account, Antonio Brown posted a crudely photoshopped image of himself wearing a Ravens uniform.

This comes just a few weeks after LaMar Jackson was seen on various social media platforms practicing with Brown.

Baltimore GM Eric DeCosta was asked by Adam Schein about whether or not Brown would make sense with the Ravens and he said, "we're always assessing the players out there on the streets." Up until this point, Ravens' management had said "no comment" when asked about AB.

There's smoke. Does that mean there's fire?

AB is undoubtedly still one of the best receivers in football. On the field, he makes a team better. But is he a fit with the Ravens schematically? I don't think so.

Brown doesn't care about winning, he cares about statistics. I don't think he can compile the type of statistics that he'd like playing in Baltimore's run heavy offense. According to, the Ravens were 32nd in the NFL in pass attempts last year and 27th in passing yards. Their leading wide receiver had just 46 catches in 2019.

It's not because Jackson isn't capable, of course he is. He won the NFL's MVP award last year. But the Ravens offense is predicated on running the ball. They did so a league leading 54 percent of the time during their 14-2 season. Why would they want to change what's working?

If Brown signed with the Ravens, they wouldn't throw him the ball as much as he'd like and he'd do what he does: complain. LaMar Jackson is a star with all the potential in the world to keep getting better. He also seems like he's focused on winning and has a good head on his shoulders.

The football fan in me wants to see Jackson's stardom reach epic heights. The Steelers fan in me says, "hey Baltimore, sign AB." If Brown winds up with the Ravens, Jackson won't achieve those heights. Brown is too big a cancer. For that reason, Steelers Nation should be rooting for Brown to wind up playing in M&T Bank Stadium this fall.
