Every day throughout this public health crisis, I'll be posting a "Pittsburgh Sports moment of the day."
As someone who was born in 1990, great Pirates memories were few and far between in my childhood. I could easily post the "Cueto dropped the ball" moment, but how about something off the beaten path?
In 2004, on the same day his son was born, Rob Mackowiak hit a walk off grand slam against the Chicago Cubs in game one of a double-header.
In game two he hit another dinger as the Pirates swept Chicago.
I believe the call from Greg Brown was, "give that dad a home run to tie it!"
