The Penguins just got done beating the Canadiens and the Red Wings. Neither of those teams are any good. The Wings, frankly, suck. The Pens played okay, and got four points. Mission accomplished.
More important that that, though, are a few finer points. Patric Hornqvist has given the Penguins fourth line some life. That's great.
Jason Zucker scoring two goals against the Habs on Friday was massive. Why?
Jarome Iginla, James Neal, and Phil Kessel were all brought in to play with Sidney Crosby. None of them did. Jason Zucker was brought in to play with Crosby. It's the best thing for this team if he sticks on the captains left wing.
After his first game with the Penguins, against the Lightning, I got the sense that Sid was "eh" about the prospect of playing with Zucker.
Crosby likes playing with players that he's comfortable with. Guys like Domonik Simon.
Those two goals from Zucker against Montreal can go a long way towards getting Sid to think that "Sugar" is up to the task.
