It’s roughly six weeks until Ben Roethlisberger begins throwing again.
He says that he wants to come back in 2020.
Here's my concern. If he comes back, it doesn’t mean that he will be the same Ben that he's been before.
Come March, he will be 38 years old. He's coming off of a non-contact elbow injury. That could be father-time's way of saying, "you're nearing the end."
Think about the other QB's that were drafted with Ben in 2004.
Eli Manning is 1-3 and was benched earlier this year. He’s got a QB rating of 82. Six touchdowns and five interceptions.
Phillip Rivers is 5-10. 21 TD’s and 18 INT’s. He’s got a QB rating of 89.
Tom Brady is the oldest QB in the league, and he’s got a QB rating that’s lower than Phillip Rivers.
Age is a funny thing.
The people who weren’t blocked by Ben's Twitter account were sharing the Roethlisberger screenshots and they were celebrating.
"MERRY CHRISTMAS!"
Hey, it’s better to hope for Roethlisberger to come back than to have to watch this carousal of ineptitude at QB.
BUT, it doesn’t guarantee that he’ll actually be back. Even if he is, his powers may have been sapped.
Hey, Christmas is about hope and saviors. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t be surprised if this doesn’t end that way.
Bah-Humbug.
