The Pirates have lost five of six games coming out of the all-star break and are seeing their playoff hopes dwindle away. He's not the only problem, but Clint Hurdle deserves to be under fire.
The manager had to have a word with Starling Marte on Monday because he wasn't hustling. Colin Moran and Corey Dickerson have had some problems catching the ball. Bryan Reynolds was doubled off on a fly ball to right field.
If the Steelers were having problems with fundamentals, you'd blame Mike Tomlin. Why isn't Clint Hurdle facing the same kind of criticism?
My theory: The owner sucks so bad that the buck stops there for most of you. I get it. I'm not even suggesting that Clint Hurdle be fired. I am suggesting, however, that he deserves some blame for the failures of this team.
