This season hasn't gone as planned for the Pittsburgh Penguins. They've been banged up for stretches all year long. Currently they're without their top defense pair. Even still, they're clinging to a playoff spot.
How?
Sidney Crosby is having one of the best seasons of his career. He was sublime last night against the Habs registering a goal and three assists. He's got 10 points in his last four games, and 21 in his last 10.
Crosby is 4th in the league in points and in points per game. This while having maybe his best ever defensive season.
If the Penguins make the playoffs, it will be on the back of Sidney Crosby.
If the Pens make the playoffs, he should be in the MVP discussion.
