The Steelers need new blood, but need not rock the boat too much.
Amid failures, sometimes a head needs to roll. We all know that it won't be Mike Tomlin's, and frankly, it shouldn't be. The Steelers were 13-3 this year and were an Al Riveron decision away from likely being in the AFC title game.
Bruce Arians is available, but that would be a move that screams of desperation. It would also radically change the offense of your franchise quarterback. The solution seems like an easy one to me: Thank Todd Haley for his time as OC and move on to Randy Fichtner.
Randy, who has a good relationship with Roethlisberger, would keep the framework of what has been a successful offense. Roethlisberger, who turns 36 in March, would get the benefit of not having to adjust to a different offense this late in his career.
Rock the boat, don't tip the boat over.
