The Tennessee Titans have "come to a consensus" on keeping the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, general manager Mike Borgonzi told reporters during a press conference on Tuesday (April 22), two days ahead of the first-round Thursday (April 24) night.
"We've come to a consensus, the entire organization, is to save that pick and I guess you'll find out Thursday night who we pick," Brognozi said.
The Titans reportedly "never opened the door" on a possible trade and are expected to select former Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward with the top pick in this week's draft, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
"After months of speculation, the consensus around the league is that the #Titans will stay at No. 1 and pick, rather than trade, sources say. No surprise. Decision made. There was real trade interest. But as one team said, “They never opened the door.” All eyes on Cam Ward," Rapoport wrote on his X account.
Tennessee met with Ward, projected by many as the No. 1 quarterback prospect, at the combine and hosted him in Nashville for a top-30 visit, while general manager Borgnozi and president of football operations Chad Brinker attended his pro day.
"[I told them] 'I'm solidifying it today,'" Ward said via ESPN. "They finally got to see me throw in person. That should be all they need to see. But at the end of the day ... I'm going to be happy whatever team I go to. I'm just trying to play football."
