On March 8, 2012, Mike Schaab, 25, was shot and killed in the lobby of Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic in a random act of gun violence. Sixteen months earlier, Mike’s sister, Nancy, was also tragically murdered as a result of gun violence. To honor and memorialize Mike and Nancy Schaab, a group of his closest friends will host the Seventh Annual Schaab Memorial charity softball tournament on July 29, 2018 at Penn Township Municipal Park in Harrison City.
The Schaab Memorial Foundation will be making a $5,000 donation to the nonprofit organization of the 1st place team’s choosing on their behalf; as well as a $2,500 donation to the selected non-profit organization of the 2nd place team!
Over the course of 6 years, the Schaab Foundation has raised more than $100,000 – half of which has been donated directly back to local charities, while the rest is used to run the tournament itself.
The sign up deadline for teams and volunteers is JUNE 17.
